Embroidery
is the art of embellishing garments, fabric, or textiles with designs stitched
in thread or yarn using a needle. Other materials may be used to create the
design such as beads, sequins, pearls, or quills. This may be done by hand,
sewing machine or computerized embroidery machine.
Crooked Brook is not a embroidery company; it is a label used by the atelier division of our art studio.
In addition to apparel design, pattern making, sample making, and small lot production, we offer custom embroidery. We use a computerized embroidery machine to do this.

We are not the cheapest, but
certainly one of the best. If your
only concern is "how much per thousand stitches?" let’s not waste each others
time; search engine results pages are full of embroidery
companies that offer "Discount Custom Embroidery", "Custom Logo

them, don't bother us.

If you are going to have text embroidered on your items, these are our
stock embroidery fonts:

(Maximum of 15-20 letters per line depending on font
& size)
|
UL=Upper & Lower Case |
AC=ALL CAPS |
LC=all lower case |
After you have chosen the font and case for your text,
select the name of the thread color from our Embroidery
Thread Color Chart
(This is a large file and may take a few seconds to load).
If you already have a design, image or logo that you would like embroidered on a garment or item, go to step 6, or you may choose a stock design from one of these online embroidery design catalogs:
If you do not have a logo but would like to create one, you can do so by
combining one of our stock embroidery fonts with a stock design from one of the
online embroidery catalogs listed above.
Please keep in mind the dimension of the design, on what, and where
it will be embroidered.
If you have already had your design or logo embroidered before, ask
whoever did it to e-mail us a digital embroidery file (.DST or .EXP format) of it. Digitizing
is the art of using a computer to convert artwork into data that
the embroidery machine can read so that it can stitch out the design.
Some
embroidery companies are reluctant, or flat out refuse to send a digital
embroidery file to another embroiderer. Our policy is, if you paid to have your
artwork digitized you are entitled to a copy of that digital embroidery file. If
you later find somebody else to do your embroidery, we will e-mail them, or
you a copy of your digital embroidery file.
If you have not had your design or
logo embroidered before, or cannot get a digital embroidery file of it, have
your graphic designer or artist e-mail us the artwork. We prefer a jpeg, however other
acceptable file formats are tiff and giff (for a PC not a Mac).
If you don't have it in one of these
formats, or it is on paper, send us what you have and we will see what we can do. Sometimes we can
pull images from the Internet. The higher the resolution and
better the graphic quality, the better the embroidery will be. Please provide us
with the approximate dimensions of the logo. If possible, the artwork should
be as
close to the actual size that you want it embroidered.
Go to our
Embroidery
Thread Color Chart and find the name of the thread color that is the
closest match to the Pantone Matching System (PMS) colors that make
up your logo. If you do not know the PMS colors ask your graphic designer or
artist.
There may be some slight variation when comparing ink color to embroidery
thread color, and not all PMS
colors are available in embroidery thread colors.
After we review your artwork, we will give you a free estimate of the
one-time cost to digitize it, and the approximate cost each time we embroider
the design on a garment or item. These costs will depend on the size and complexity of
the design.
Not all designs or logos are embroidery friendly because, more often than not, they were
originally designed for print. With print, letters can be much smaller and
colors can be incorporated into each other more fluidly than with
embroidery.
Therefore, sometimes modifications must
be made to the size and /or layout of lettering, logo, or design to achieve the
best results (with your approval of course).
Sometimes, the smallest text in a design or logo will dictate the size that it
can be embroidered.
The smallest text we can embroider with any legibility is about .25" in
height. Depending on the size, some designs, images or logos with intricate detail
will need to be reduced in complexity to
attain high quality embroidery as the end result.
If you agree to the estimate, the
one-time cost to digitize the artwork is non-refundable and payment is required before we
proceed.
After we have your artwork
digitized, if you like, we will e-mail you a digital image of an actual stitch
out for your approval. We will not proceed with your order until you approve by
e-mail or fax. If you do not confirm your order, it will be placed on hold until you approve by
e-mail or fax.
Once items have been embroidered, they CANNOT be returned or exchanged unless for
defects in workmanship.
Custom Embroidered T- Shirts, Polo Shirts, Sweatshirts, Hoodies, Jackets,
Fleece Pullovers, and Vests
Custom embroidered clothing, promotional products and uniforms, continues to be one of the most popular methods for establishing an identity, building or reinforcing an image, promoting a brand, or just looking cool.
Don’t limit your logo embroidery to uniforms, polo shirts, or hats. A jacket (shirt, sweatshirt, fleece pullover or vest), with a large logo embroidered on the back, and a small logo embroidered on the front will be seen by everyone who encounters the wearer. This setup could be considered a walking billboard. No other embroidered apparel item is displayed so prominently and continuously.
